Roopkund Trek -

About - Roopkund is a lake which is situated on 16,000 ft height so this trek is about reaching Roopkund lake from your base camp Lohajung and will take 7 nights 8 days. It is in Uttrakhand, and doable in 4 months every year. May - June, in early may there is snowfall so you can see frozen Roopkund lake. September - October which is post monsoon/fall season.

Day 1: Drive from Kathgodam to Lohajung – 220 Km – 10/11 hours

Day 2: Lohajung to Didna – 10 Km – 4/5 hours

Day 4: Bedni Bugyal to Patar Nachuni – 4 Km – 2/3 hour

Day 5: Patar Nachuni to Baguabasa – 5 Km – 4/5 hours

Day 6: Baguabasa to Roopkund and back to Patar Nachuni – 12 Km – 8/10 hours

Day 7: Patar Nachuni to Wan – 17 Km – 8/9 hr – 1 hour drive back to Lohajung

Day 8: Drive from Lohajung to Kathgodam – 220 Km – 10 hours

Key Facts - At Roopkund lake you will find human skeleton and bones, you will have to look closer to experience this of is it is a warm day and lake is not frozen. This human skeleton and bones theory leads to many myths some say it was a curse of Nanda Devi. Other myths are once a group of trekker lost their way and trapped in a hailstorm and many more. Valley of Flowers -

About - It is is situated in Chamoli district of Garhwal Region in Uttarakhand. Valley of flower National Park is famous for its flora and fauna here you can find more than 500 species of different plants and 160+ species of animals. Valley of flower national park and Nanda Devi National Park both form a core zone of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. This park has been announced as a UNESCO heritage site of biosphere reserve ( source - ) in 2005. Har Ki Dun Trek -

About - You can go for Har Ki Dun trek all around the year except for July/August during monsoon, due to rain trek become difficult. Local authorities are not giving permit these days for December to February because the main trail of this trek lies in core zone of Govind National Park in winters this area experience the migration of wildlife inside the trail. If you want to visit the snow early march would be the best option from may onwards valley flooded with vibrant flowers and around october grass gets pale and turns into spectacular red, brown and light yellow hue.

Day 1: Reach Sari ( 7-8 hours drive from Haridwar. Transport from Haridwar )

Day 2: Sari to Deoriatal ( 1 hour, 3 km )

Day 3: Deoriatal to Chopta ( 7-8 hours, 14 km )

Day 4: Chopta to Chandrashila Peak via Tungnath and back to Chopta ( 4 hours, 8 km )

Day 5: Depart for Haridwar

Trail length - 25 kms

Highest point - 12,083 ft

Key facts - You will pass through Devprayag, where you will see how to holy rivers of India Alaknanda and Bhagirathi confluence to form The Ganga. While trekking you will see Kala Parvat, below kala parvat there is glacial lake called Bisuri Tal. It has been said by many locals that Pandavas used to hide their weapons here in Bisuri Tal. Tungnath temple is just half km away from Chandrashila base highest abode of Lord Shiva, must visit. At Chandrashila, you find another temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is believed to have been built by Rama to atone for the sin of killing Ravana. This temple is open from April to October. The deity is moved to Ukhimath in winter.
